This week will feature some reviews and an interview with Blake. If you haven't already discovered his writing I urge you to hang out on the blog this week and find out what all the fuss is about (at least why I am making a fuss).
A little background on BLAKE CROUCH WEEK. I first heard about Crouch when he teamed up with three other writers to pen the kick ass vampire novel Draculas: A Novel of Terror
Like most of you out there, I was tired of the same old same old. And despite enjoying the Twilight books as much as the rest of the housewives and teenage girls out there, I kinda wanted to see some serious bite put back in the vampire. And these guys did it.
But who the hell was this Crouch guy?
It was through my research of J.A. Konrath I discovered this wasn't the first time these two writers had teamed up to scare the hell out of folks. Together they had published a short novella on Amazon.com called SERIAL UNCUT (Extended Edition)
From that point on I started to seek out Blake's work, for some reason focusing on his short stories, rather than his novels. I picked up his collection FOUR LIVE ROUNDS
In the mean time I had the wonderful opportunity to interview Blake's e-book cover designer Jeroen ten Berge. If you haven't read that interview, please do. Jeroen is a terrific guy and in my opinion a damn fine cover designer.
After reading DESERT PLACES I decided to take a chance and ask Blake if he would care to answer a few questions for my blog. To my immense pleasure, he agreed.
With reviews in the wings of LOCKED DOORS, BREAK YOU: A Novella of Terror (Andrew Z. Thomas Thriller)
Later today I will be posting my thoughts on LOCKED DOORS.
But that's not all!
To make this week a little more fun I'm going to be giving away e-copies of various Blake Crouch publications via Amazon.com. For starters, anyone who makes a comment in either of my posts today will have a chance to win an e-book copy of Blake's Run
Along with a couple of other give aways, at the end of the week it'll be my pleasure to give away one set of the Andrew Z. Thomas e-book thrillers (DESERT PLACES/LOCKED DOORS/BREAK YOU).
Please note that the give aways are through Amazon.com for the Kindle (my apologies to anyone with a Nook or Kobo or no reading device at all.)

Sounds like a great week ahead!
ReplyDeleteThis is cool. Enjoyed Draculas and keep meaning to read more of Crouch's work. Serials is sitting on my hard drive for too long. Looking forward to what the week has in store.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see Crouch lifted up. Terrific writer!
