INSTRUCTIONS by Neil Gaiman and Charles Vess

Aidan, Dani and I took a trip to the local library yesterday and I happened upon this little gem of a book.

Neil Gaiman has always been a bit of hit and miss for me. I like some of his work and dislike some of it.

This one I really, really, enjoyed.

Instructions is a quick reading children's book about a fox that wanders down a path into a fantasy world, at once easily recognizable but also unique in it's own magical way.

The words on the page mesh magnificently with Charles Vess' extraordinary, fantastical, illustrations.

If you have a little fantasy lover in your home, or simply a fan of either of these two magicians, Instructions is the perfect bedtime magic carpet ride.

  1. He's exceptionally hit and miss for me as well. Some of his work is so great and other times no, no.
